LifeRock begins as a sunlit piece of Pleistocene era seafloor thriving with living creatures.

Over the next 100 millennia and the retreat of the ocean, this ancient piece of seafloor, now well inland, has formed a pure, aragonite-bearing rock.

This clean base rock is 97% calcium carbonate with minor and trace elements such as strontium, magnesium, and barium. 

This base has an amazing 50% void space which will provide residence for billions of water-purifying bacteria. 

LifeRock is infused with bacteria using AragAlive technology which results in a reduction of traditional cycling times. 

Each piece of LifeRock has multiple engineered aragonite coatings that not only maintain the extensive macro-and micro- porosity but yield the soft muted colours of a living reef. 

LifeRock is a superior rock of true marine origin without hitchhikers, organics, or algae. 

No curing is required.

LifeRock Shelf Rock is the perfect way to create a stable base for your rock structures. You can stack pieces up to design caves, or even build up backwalls with its unique flat side, and the flatter surface is perfect for mounting many encrusting corals. We've found that a mixture of Shelf rock and other types of Life Rock such as the Arches or Shapes is a great way to create interesting, beautiful aquascapes that instantly look established and natural. 

Please Note: Each box will contain a variety of rocks of different sizes and shapes. We are unable to take any special requests for rocks of a particular dimension or size.

Shipping: Caribsea and Aqua Blue make every effort to securely and safely pack the Rock sufficiently to minimize damages. However, because of the fragile nature of this rock, it is possible for the rock to break during shipment. The delivery companies are not always gentle on heavy products like this, and they also do not consider this product insurable. Because of this, there is some inherent risk with shipping rock like this across the country and we are unable to replace or refund broken pieces. If this happens most pieces can be repaired with epoxy very simply.
